  • what is a colorimeter?
colorimeter is widely used for plastic, paint, print, textile, dying, food and other industries for color measurement according to the cie color space of l*a*b and l*c*h to get the delta e and 鈻矻ab value between target and sample.

    how to use a colorimeter?
    1. turn on and calibrate the instrument (note: in order to make sure the instrument stability and accuracy, it will be better if we can calibrate the instrument every time when we start it.)
firstly, do black calibration. put the black calibration show on the instrument and then press “test” on instrument. after hear the sound of beep, calibration will be done successfully. follow the same step for white calibration.

    2. enter into the main interface and set tolerance
tolerance: customer can set the tolerance according to their requirement. choose “tolerance”, then press “enter” , at last press “up” or “down” to revise the value. press “enter” to confirm the setting.

    3. target measurement
put the instrument on the target and make sure no light will enter into instrument, then press “test” to measure. after hear the sound of beep, we can see the test result directly on the screen.
    4. sample measurement
press enter to enter into the interface to compare the color difference value between target and sample. put the instrument on the sample and make sure no light will enter into instrument, then press “test” to measure. after hear the sound of beep, we can see the color difference value and pass/fail result directly on screen.

    5. data storage
after measurement, press save, then we can save target and sample value. sample name can also be edited.
    6. after finish the test, we need switch off the instrument and put the dust cover on instrument.
    what does l*a*b mean?

answer: l*a*b is the color space introduced by cie (english name: international commission on illumination). l represents white or black (鈻矻* represents too much white; 鈻矻*- represents too much black).a represents red or green (鈻砤* represents too much red; 鈻砤*- represents too much green).b represents yellow or blue (鈻砨* represents too much yellow; 鈻砨*- represents too much blue).
